Bongo- Your stories are heartbreaking. You may not know this about me, but I went to grade school with these kids in the 5th & 6th grade in a West Denver housing project's. I was bused in each morning. I can tell you this they know how to play on the emotions of their teacher and are very good at getting what they want. We once have a person come into our class collecting for the poor and the kids quickly shouted out loud we are the poor what are you doing here? I though it was interesting to know that they knew and understood they were the poor. They also know quite well how to play the system to get what they need and want. Surprising how early they learn these essential like cooping skills. Be careful don't get to close and help as many as you can. Your heart is bigger than the sun. Teach them to thrive in spite of their soundings and you will change their potential in life. I am giving you an assignment. Your home work should you choose to take the assignment is to learn everything you can about Tyler Perry and watch his movies especially the ones centered around my favorite character grandma Medea. http://www.tylerperry.com/ He was once a kid in a class just like yours.
